Service:

East Bay Paratransit provides service in Western Contra Costa County in the cities and towns of El Cerrito, El Sobrante, Kensington, parts of Pinole, Richmond and San Pablo that are served by AC Transit and BART. Because East Bay Paratransit also serves people in Alameda County you can schedule trips across county lines with the same operator.




Service Hours:

Paratransit hours are the same as the hours for A C Transit or BART in the service area.




Eligibility:

East Bay Paratransit is the ADA paratransit operator for the areas served by A C Transit and BART. It transports people in this area who are unable to ride public transit due to a disability or disabling health condition. East Bay Paratransit requires an in-person assessment in addition to the paper application.




Application required for East Bay Paratransit eligibility:

To apply for East Bay Paratransit eligibility, you must live in the East Bay Paratransit service area and send your application to them directly. The application is available online or by calling East Bay Paratransit to request one by mail. In order for your application to be approved, you must be certified eligible based on your inability to use buses or trains.

Service:

Mobility Matters operates a  volunteer driver program, that provides free, one on one, door through door, escorted rides by screened and trained volunteers using their own cars.




Eligibility:

Essentially homebound, ambulatory (with or without walking aides) seniors over age 60 who do not have access to safe, appropriate transportation for medical and dental care and  grocery shopping. Riders must require door through door escort with elbow or standby assistance to qualify.




Application:

Telephone interview with a follow up in home assessment. The application to be completed by a staff member.

Rides For Seniors / Mobility Matters
 
Eligibility:

Resident of San Pablo; must be 55 or more; or be disabled.




Service Area:

San Pablo and surrounding area.




Hours of Operation:

Weekdays: 9:00 am - 4:15 pm




Application:

An application must be completed. Rides are made by reservation 24 hours in advance. New riders receive a free book of tickets upon registration.




Fees:

Fees are subject to change. $1 per ride. Riders can purchase a book of tickets from the San Pablo Senior Center (1943 Church Lane). The book is equivalent to 10 rides or 5 round trip rides. Cost for the book is $10 and can be purchased by check or cash.
